200-word bio:
GREG ANDERSON and ELIZABETH JOY ROE have been described as "Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers transposed from the dance floor to the keyboard" (The Southampton Press). Together they bring a fresh and visionary approach to the concert stage, dazzling audiences with their adrenalized performances, inventive programming, original compositions, and refined artistry. They have performed as a four-hand and two-piano team across North America and presented innovative concerts in nearly every New York City venue imaginable: from Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall, and Steinway Hall, to children's hospitals, HIV/AIDS homes, and cancer centers. The duo has appeared on MTV's Total Request Live and NPR's From the Top, and they released their debut album, "Reimagine," in 2008.
Greg and Elizabeth both received their bachelor and master's degrees from The Juilliard School, where they left an indelible impression. The duo was featured on several prominent Juilliard events; they jointly presented for members of the United Nations, performed repeatedly for the board of directors and donors of the school, and replaced John Williams as composers on Juilliard's "Cinema Serenades" concert. Additionally, the two directed the groundbreaking project "Life Between the Keys," a concert that involved the entire Juilliard Piano Class of 2004. A live performance by the Anderson & Roe piano duo is included on the “Sounds of Juilliard” CD celebrating the school's centennial year. -- www.andersonroe.net --

GREG ANDERSON and ELIZABETH JOY ROE have been described as “Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers transposed from the dance floor to the keyboard” (The Southampton Press). Together they bring a fresh and visionary approach to the concert stage, dazzling audiences with their adrenalized performances, inventive programming, original compositions, and refined artistry. They have performed as a four-hand and two-piano team across North America, with notable recitals in New York, Los Angeles, Salt Lake City, St. Paul, Milwaukee, Sarasota, Banff, and the Hamptons. In May of 2004, they were featured on MTV's Total Request Live, and in 2006 they appeared twice on NPR's From the Top.
Mr. Anderson and Ms. Roe met in 2000 as freshmen at The Juilliard School and the two formed their dynamic partnership shortly thereafter. Over the following six years, the duo presented innovative concerts in nearly every New York City venue imaginable: from Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall, and Steinway Hall, to children's hospitals, HIV/AIDS homes, and cancer centers. They released their debut album, "Reimagine," in 2008.
Unquestionably, Mr. Anderson and Ms. Roe left an indelible impression at The Juilliard School, where they both earned their bachelor's and master's degrees. The duo was granted the honor to perform on several prominent Juilliard events, including a presentation for the “Women for Women” Association of the United Nations, the “Juilliard Young Artists and Their Mentors” concert at Zankel Hall, annual concerts for the "Friends of the Library," and repeated performances for the board of directors and donors of the school. In 2006, given only two months to compose and prepare, the Anderson & Roe piano duo gave the world premiere of their own composition “Star Wars Fantasy: Four Impressions for Two Pianos,” replacing John Williams on Juilliard's “Cinema Serenades” concert in Alice Tully Hall. Additionally, the two directed the groundbreaking project “Life Between the Keys,” a concert that involved the entire Juilliard Piano Class of 2004; this event celebrated the class's unique camaraderie and chronicled its Juilliard experience in an all-American program of piano music. A live performance by the Anderson & Roe piano duo is included on the “Sounds of Juilliard” CD celebrating the school's centennial year.
As soloists, Mr. Anderson and Ms. Roe have won numerous awards and have performed around the world, including concerto appearances with the Juilliard Orchestra in Lincoln Center. Upon receiving their bachelor's degrees 2004, they were each awarded Scholastic Distinction for their theses entitled “The Art and Evolution of Piano Recital Programming” and “The Protean Face of Music in Literature,” respectively. As graduate students at Juilliard, they were recipients of prominent academic scholarships: Mr. Anderson was a Jack Kent Cooke Scholar and Ms. Roe was a Soros Fellow. Presently, Mr. Anderson is pursuing his doctorate at Yale University and composing for The 5 Browns, and Ms. Roe is a teaching artist fellow for The Academy – A Program of Carnegie Hall, The Juilliard School, and The Weill Music Institute.
The duo’s interactive website, andersonroe.net, has generated tremendous enthusiasm among fans and Internet bloggers. The duo responds to user questions and comments on a daily basis, and their wildly creative music videos have been viewed over 600,000 times in the past few months.

The Southampton Press, regarding the Anderson & Roe Piano Duo:
One admired throughout their energy, their precision, and their unalloyed pleasure in making music.
...Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers transposed from the dance floor to the keyboard.
...fiery and passionate ...in a class by itself.
It is often said that young musicians today have razor-sharp technique, but they lack individuality. This cannot be said of these two young performers. The technique is beyond question, but they have personalities, both musical and personal that are completely distinctive and a joy to discover.
